Important tips before installing your KD pool
1. Read all of the safety, installation and maintenance information contained in the Zodiac instruction manual and water safety brochure before you start installing your pool.
2. Install your pool on the surface of the ground.
3. Ensure that your pool leveled so that the difference between the highest and lowest points is less than 2 inches (under 5 cm). Your pool needs to be on firm, solid soil.
4. Set aside 1 or 2 hours to install your KD pool, depending on the size of the pool and the number of helpers you will have. We recommend you get at least one other person to help you.
If you are installing your pool permanently, we strongly recommend that you prepare the area as follows:
- The necessity of a building permit (applicable in certain cases);
- Safety standards (in certain regions);
- Availability of public services (electricity and others);
- Boundaries of your property.
Install your pool in a spot far from water sources. This will limit the chance of water and debris accumulating near the structure.
Install the filtration system less than six metres from the pool, close to a power outlet. The shorter the distance between the pump and power outlet, the easier the structure will be to install.
Select a spot that is far from overhead or underground electrical lines and water and natural gas pipes.
- Remove the sod in the area you’ve selected
- Remove all debris (rocks, roots) using a rake
- Thoroughly compact the ground
- Dump and spread sand
- Wet the sand and pack it down with a lawn roller or other compactor
- You may want to install a pool carpet under the liner to protect it
